Simon Gabriel was born July 28, 2008 at 24 weeks in gestation. His weight at birth was 1 pound 7 ounces and he was 12 inches long. Our journey together through pregnancy started easy, but quickly turned into one of the scariest experiences of my life, where each day I remained pregnant was a blessing. The events that transpired the day of Simon's birth will forever remain ingrained in my mind.

As a family, our ups and downs have been great. We have struggled one day and celebrated the next. The journey through the NICU is great, but well worth our personal struggles to spend the next years with our Son and Brother. Our journey has been chronicled almost daily at Simon's Blog.

The birth of Simon came as a shock for our family.  We are working through the emotional cycles associated.  One of our greatest stressors is the financial ramifications of our traveling 120 miles one way to see our son in Colorado.  We have set out to raise $6,000, which will ensure that Simon has support daily from his family.  He has a big brother who begs each day for Simon to be big enough to come home.  Simon is very much wanted in our lives – and loved even more.

Making the choice to remain home, as parents, in Wyoming is not an option.  Simon needs to have as much support and encouragement as we can give at this point in his life.  We were blessed with his presence in our lives and it is up to us to be present in his.  Funds raised will assist us in traveling and temporarily relocating to be with our little miracle, Simon Gabriel.

Thank you to everyone who bid on our eBay Auctions! We have auctions up at Simon's Auctions! Our total raised to date is $1287!! We are getting closer to our goal!! Thank you!

Simon is coasting right along. He's now up to 1170 grams or two pounds, nine ounces. Simon is breathing on his own with the assistance of a CPAP. He has now spent about 1/3 of his time in the NICU. Our little guy is growing stronger each and every day! For those who have requested our mailing address again:
